The Battle at Bedtime

Blessings!

This is a topic, I am sure we are ALL familiar with! Sharing the bed with our children. Or as some call it co-sleeping. Now, my children are MUCH older, each have their own beds, AND, know that Dad and Mom's bed is NOT a free for all. When we have babies, it is a bit different, but since mine are all grown...does it stop them from bombarding our space every chance they get? Absolutely NOT!

When Daddy is home, it is Daddy only who keeps the left side of the bed warm. When Daddy is on deployments, this is a HUGE Goliath I have. As each of our children fight over who is going to keep Mommy warm and cozy in the place of their Daddy. I for one, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my childern, but when you have 6 legs, 6 arms, and 3 bodies totaling 150+lbsthat smack you from each direction....something or someone needs to come to an agreement!
So, with this being said; I have devised a small (yet MIGHTY) plan. I created a little note to hang on my door entitled, "Bedtime Blessings", with a designated sleeping night for each child. Not only does this give them something to look forward too, but it also provides some structure, some quality one on one time with Mommy, and some sanity that I long for so desprately! Not to mention....less feet and arms to slap me with. lol

Here isthe note on my door. Please, feel free to copy and adjust it to fit your own needs for your family. (If I could figure out how to get the download into my post...you wouldn't have to copy and paste! None the less......enjoy LOL

©      You MUST complete ALL of your chores each day.

©      You MUST complete ALL of your homeschool work each day.

©      You have kept a meek and quiet spirit towards others.

©      You have kept a joyful attitude towards others.

©      You MUST pick up and put away your belongings when you arise.

©      If someone is sick and needs Mommy right there, your night may be changed to a different night. (Thank you for being compassionate and understanding)

©      If you lose your night because of inappropriate behavior or not completing your chores/homeschool work, you WILL have to wait for the following week.

©      You do not have the right to sleep in here. It is a privilege and this is Mommy’s way of blessing you!
I love you……Mommy
